My Data Shuttle device arrived, what do I do with it now?
Set the packaging and return shipping label aside. You will use them later!
Plug your Mozy Data Shuttle into an available USB 3.0, USB 2.0 (two USB ports), or eSata port (one USB for power).
The already installed software should ask if you would like to switch to Data Shuttle backup. Confirm and resume your backup.
Once your backup finishes, place the Data Shuttle and cables back into the packaging, and return it using the return label.
My computer won’t recognize my Data Shuttle device, what do I do?
Verify that the drive is on. Try a different USB port or eSata port. Try connecting drive to two USB ports (one is for power).
Verify that the drive is not recognized on another computer. If you are using a VM, verify that port pass through is enabled.
For Windows: Verify that the volume for the Data Shuttle is NTFS and it is labeled MozyDataShuttle.
I have a Data Shuttle, but my initial backup has already started. What do I do?
Not a problem. If your Mozy client is 2.22 or greater, go ahead and plug the the data shuttle into an available USB 3.0, USB 2.0, eSata port and follow the Mozy client on-screen prompts.
I shipped my Data Shuttle back to Mozy, can I start my normal backups now?
Yes. Once the data is transferred to the Data Shuttle device, your incremental backups will begin automatically based on your backup schedule configuration.
I shipped my Data Shuttle back to Mozy, when will it be loaded in your data center?
Typically, it takes less than 4-5 days once we receive the drive to load data. If it has been longer than 72 hours, contact support for assistance.
I did a Data Shuttle, but I can’t restore. Why?
Restores are disabled until the Data Shuttle is "Loaded" at the data center. If you suspect that the data has been "Loaded" already, contact Mozy Support. If a Data Shuttle order was placed, but the machine never seeded files to a Shuttle drive, please contact Mozy Support for assistance.
