Improved Buying Experience and Performance for Microsoft Orders
In this update, we are making improvements in Cloud Marketplace that will enhance performance and your overall experience when ordering Microsoft products. These changes will be rolled out to country Cloud Marketplaces in early October, starting with the New Zealand Cloud Marketplace. Please check back here for updates as we roll out these new features to other country marketplaces.
Enhancements that will be released in New Zealand include the following:
Seamless Partner Invitation Link (PIL) for Microsoft customer tenant creation
Partners creating a new Microsoft customer tenant will have a seamless experience that will guide them to the Microsoft Admin Center (MAC). Partners will no longer need to leave the Cloud Marketplace screen to create tenants.
Improved automation of subscription upgrades
Upgrading your customers from Microsoft 365 Business Plans is now easier—with automation to Microsoft Partner Center upgraded on the spot. The following are possible upgrade paths:
Plan | Possible Upgrade Plan |
Microsoft 365 Apps for Business |
|
Microsoft 365 Business Standard |
|
Microsoft 365 Business Basic |
|
(Note: Plans with add-ons cannot be upgraded)
Easier transition to/from monthly and annual billing periods
Switching subscriptions from monthly to annual (and vice versa) is now possible. Please note: SMB SKUs will need to accomplish the switch through Classic Panel and enterprise SKUs can be switched through the Control Panel.
Note: For all net new Microsoft subscription orders, partners may need to enter a Microsoft Partner Network ID (MPN ID). Please enter the MPN ID that you want associated to your Partner of Record (POR), Competencies, Incentives, etc.
Limit Sales Orders to 1 Microsoft Offer in Shopping Cart until October 21
Please limit your order to one Microsoft offer. If you need another, please place a separate order. This is temporary (until October 21) while we update our system to bring you new features.
Enhancements that will be released in the next release:
Better search abilities: Look up by GUID
Find products quicker by using the GUID (Global Unique Identifier) search.
NCE Perpetual and software subscriptions: One-time billing
Buy perpetual and software like SQL Server and Windows Server license keys with simplified one-time billing. Partners simply purchase and direct customers to their Microsoft Admin Center for license keys.
New nomenclature for extended offer names
To ensure the best user experience and alleviate confusion around extended offer names, product names and specifications have been shortened to ensure the partner and customer are choosing the correct SKU. Nomenclature will follow these standards:
Product name standardization for per-user offers
A new standardized nomenclature will be coming to Cloud Marketplace to help partners and end customers search and find the proper product subscription type for per-user offers. Key offer information will be encoded into a Product Name as a standardized suffix. The standardized suffix is a series of 3-digit parameters concatenated as follows:
Licensing Model - Qualification - Committed Term - Billing Period.
Here are the possibilities for each parameter:
ex. Azure Active Directory Premium P2 (CSP COM 1YR MTH)
- Licensing Model for determining invoice date, applicable incentives, promotions, rebates etc.
- CSP for Cloud Solution Provider offer
- Qualification for applying AAD Tenant eligibility criteria to the sales order
- COM for Non-Qualified Commercial Public Cloud Offer
- Committed Term for applying invoicing, early termination and renewal policies
- 1YR for 1-Year Committed Term, with Annual Auto-Renew
- Billing Period for applying credit and fraud checks, channel invoicing and early termination fees
- MTH for Monthly Pre-Paid Invoicing, available on Committed Terms of MTH and 1YR
